THE COST

As expected, the costs are coming in well above the existing $500,000 bond for electrical upgrades. And there are still many items that need to be priced, so the total is likely to increase.

A new bond to pay for these improvements to Fort Getty Park is inevitable as the costs are already over $1.6 million.

That raises an important financial question: how would this investment affect the revenue currently generated by the park? A significant portion of that revenue will be lost and any new bond would have to compete with the other infrastructure spending priorities facing the town.
